Mrs. Kimber Aycock is a certified pedorthist and fitter. She is originally from Georgia, where she developed an interest in the orthotic field. Mrs. Aycock began working in the administrative department of a local O&P facility.
After several months of observing patient care, she developed more of an interest in working directly with patients. She began studying and training to become a certified fitter. Mrs. Aycock was exposed to orthotics at a young age when she was struck with a rare neurological condition known as Guillain-Barré syndrome. This condition left Mrs. Aycock with lower extremity weakness from the waist down for a short period. To assist with her rehabilitation to return to walking, she received AFOs.
Through her personal experience, she provides compassionate care to patients who are facing similar trials. Mrs. Aycock also worked in the orthopedic field as a certified cast technician. However, she later returned to the orthotic field at Sandhills O&P. Here, she furthered her education, becoming a certified pedorthist.
Outside of work, Mrs. Aycock is a loving mother of two boys. She teaches Sunday School at her local church. She enjoys reading, baking, and tries to share her faith with others she encounters daily.
